Free travel advice for Tees Valley Residents
RESIDENTS of Tees Valley are benefiting from free personal travel planning conversations to help them to get to work, education or training.
Local Motion’s Travel Advisors are aiming to help make travelling around the region cheaper, easier and healthier for individuals and for families. They are also noting any comments residents may have which will help make improvements to sustainable transport options in the area.
You will see the Travel Advisors in the following locations around the region throughout 2017-18:
Darlington: 8 April - 9 June 2017
Middlesbrough: 13 June - 15 August 2017
Stockton: 22 August - 25 October 2017
Hartlepool: 26 October - 11 January 2017
Redcar & Cleveland: 12 January - 23 March 2018
The Travel Advisors will also be encouraging residents to consider other sustainable transport by offering bus timetables and maps along with walking and cycling information. Walking or cycling regularly has been shown to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, asthma, stroke and some cancers so the travel advice will deliver health benefits along with environmental and money saving benefits.
The Travel Advisors will carry personal identification and be easy to recognise from their Local Motion branded clothing.
To keep up to date with where the travel advisors are in each town follow Local Motion on Facebook.
